Gas leaking on Brute Force
08/19/09 at 20:31:42

Was out ridin awhile dorsum and could smell gas. Thought it was my spare leaking, was not, so I noticed gas dripping from under the handle bars was not certain why so I hurried back to town. Stopped into the dealer and they said information technology was the 1 mode valve off of the gas tank which is vented into the frame. So they put a new valve on and ran a hose along the frame  support under the handle bars. Well was out ridin this past Monday and got the gas coming out under the bars again. Not sure what is going on anyone take any suggestions?  Forgot the most important role, I have a 2008 Animal 650i. Love it simply I am concerned about this problem. Thanks  in advance for any help.

Thanks for this post. I have the same thing happening. Right/Rear, merely above the gas tank is a valve that goes into the frame. Fuel is leaking on mine where that safety valve goes into the frame.

Pushed it in a few times, simply after a few bumps, I offset getting that massive fuel olfactory property.

Is this problem only a flaw in blueprint considering of the gas tank being then depression under the seat or is it something else?? I really don't like all the gas upwardly nether the handle bars, makes me nervous.  I have not noticed whatsoever difference in my fuel mileage. I am going to try and telephone call Kawasaki tomorrow and see what they have to say about it.

Tried to call Kawasaki yesterday with no success. I got a recorded message proverb that they were closed, but then information technology said their hours were from 8 am-- v pm Pacific Standard Time. I called them around ii pm MST which would have been one pm their fourth dimension. I guess I will try over again on Monday.. The dealer hither has not been much assist either.

I have had the same problems on mine . It but happened when the the tank was filled to it maximum. Then with the expansion and force per unit area build upwardly, it forces the fuel out the overflow vent tube. Which exits by your handle bars. Because of the long run and volume of the vent system, it tin take awhile before the odor or fuel is forcefulness out.

I had removed the white filler spacer from the fuel neck of my tank, and so that I could get more fuel in at fill up. This likewise made the problem worse. Now if I overfill, I try to ride level basis till the fuel level drops , so don't seem to accept as much problem.... Hot weather also makes it show up..

Later on a bit of experimenting, I concur with this statement. Seems the outcome only surfaces if I fill to the rim of the filler cervix. Reducing fuel below the neck (and valve) eliminates the issue.

Thanks.

I accept noticed it more when I am riding up loma then on flat surface or downwards loma, but I have only ever filled my tank to the lesser of the filler tube. And then for me I don't take to over fill up my tank and I still get the gas under the bars.
I have had no luck in trying to reach Kawasaki to ask them nigh this.
